E. James Dixon, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology and former director of the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology is the recipient of a Fulbright Specialist Award to teach and conduct research for six weeks at the University of Paris during the 2025 fall semester. While at the Sorbonne, he is lecturing on North American archeology in graduate and undergraduate classes. He will present a public lecture, “How, When, and Why People First Came to the Americas” sponsored by the French Société des Amériques at the Musée du Quai Branly Jacques Chirac. He is also conducting collaborative research with Dr. Claire Alix, a member of the Archéologie des Amériques faculty and a leading expert in the study of wooden artifacts recovered from glaciers, permafrost, and circumpolar regions.
